good apps for learning are duolingo memrise As for recording sentences, I would take a good flash card app, like ANKI, where you can add audio and text to the mix. (There are hundreds out there to choose from) If you want to listen to someone reading you the words, you can find premade decks for anki, or you could listen to forvo and /or leo.org (a very good dictionary) The apps I mentioned work on android, so I am guessing you should also find them for your iphone....
