"To leave school". What does it mean?
Is it the same as "to drop out of school" or "to finish school"? Does it depend on the context? Thanks in advance.

To 'leave school' means to stop attending school before the end of the normal period. It suggests finishing early. If you stayed until the end you would 'finish school'.

Yes. It does mean exactly the same as "drop out of school" or "to finish school".
It is confusing though because it can also mean a temporary departure, as in. "I had to leave school to go to the dentist."
I hope that helps.
