What dose this "went" mean? It's from a book. ROAR!went Dad's car as it sped round the dirt track. I don't understand what "Wend" and the "It" mean? can anyone help me? Thank you!

'Roar' is a description of the sound made by Dad's car. The verb to go is often used in colloquial English to refer to a sound being made or what someone said, it here simply refers to Dad's car.
