How do you say "catch the wind" in Japanese?
I'm translating a song from English to Japanese, and I can't figure out how to convey "catching" wind, as in "the kite caught the wind and lifted higher into the sky". I'm assuming 「風を 捉える」(kaze wo toraeru) would be incorrect? I take that to mean capturing, like a bug or a criminal. I mean it more like an eagle catching air and soaring higher.
How do you say, "Catch the wind" in Japanese? Please help me!

I think your translation is correct.
I read the sentence as an example,
you can also say 「風を受ける」(kaze wo ukeru) and 「風に乗る」(kaze ni noru).
(But that is almost like a free translation...)
