what's the opposite of 'crane one's neck'?
I want to discribe a person who retract his neck in the collar because of the cold weather. I mean his shoulders would rise towards the ears causing the neck to seemingly “disappear.”
he walked by a shop quickly, _________ due to the cold weather.
