Hi Suan Your sentence is almost perfect. It should read: I thank you for being my friend. Or Thank you for being my friend. Susan

"being" as a noun is a word to describe existing or living. example: a Human Being. "Be" is what is called an auxiliary verb or a minor verb that leads to a proper verb. "Be" is a future tense, "Been" is a past tense and "Being" is a current tense. Examples: You are going to be hurt. (future tense) Where have you been hurt (past tense) I am being hurt! (Current tense) Further "being" is "continuing to be".
