What does "cross in" mean?
As she crossed in back of the wagon, a fallen chest caught her eye. It must have been knocked down in the fight or dropped as it was being loaded.
Hi. What does "cross in" mean? Does it just mean "she went into the back of the wagon"?
Thank you.

Hi! "cross in" sounds wrong to me, as it is used here. The meaning seems clear though, it means as she crossed over the back of the wagon. I would not construct it this way, I haven't even heard this construction before.
Hope that helps!

This doesn't make much sense to me, are you sure it was copied correctly?
Possibly it's modern literature with strange use of English and slang, I can't say.
