Which article (definite or indefinite) is used with body parts in German?

For example, I want to learn body parts in German together with my daughter. I sit in front of her, point to my head and ask:
Was ist das?
The answer should be "das ist ein Kopf" or "das ist der Kopf"?
Das ist ein Mund. (mouth)
Das ist eine Nase. (nose)
Das ist ein Auge. (eye)
Das ist ein Ohr. (ear)
Das ist ein Bauch. (tummy)
Das ist ein Bein. (leg)

You say "der Kopf" when there is only one head, or when it is clear from the context that you are talking about one specific head. Otherwise it is "ein Kopf", i.e. one of many you might be talking about.  
If you are talking to you daughter about a drawing with one person on it (i.e. the context has already been set to that picture), you say: "Das ist der Kopf", as there is only one head in the drawing. But when it comes to the arms, you say: "Das ist ein Arm" (as there are two of them), or "Das ist der rechte Arm" (as there is only one right arm in the picture).

And please, NEVER write B instead of ß. If you dont have a ß on your keyboard, replace it with ss (and use ae/oe/ue for ä/ö/ü).

For learning purposes I would emphasize the definite article, so that learning the gender of each noun becomes easier. With the indefinite article, since masculine and neuter nouns would use "ein," the gender would also become unclear. Knowing noun gender is important for grammatical purposes later in your studies, so when reviewing vocab in the way you have described above, it would be best to say "Das ist der Kopf, Das ist die Nase, etc."

In general, whether you use the definite or indefinite article depends wholly on context.
