In this example there is no difference.
However, travel typically implies a higher level of planning than simply going somewhere. For example you go to the shop (since you know where your local store is and don't need to plan) but you travel to Singapore (since this might involve planning, taking holiday, working with airlines or travel agents, etc)

In THIS case, they are interchangeable, they mean the same thing.
But in other cases, "travel" means going to a different city, state, continent etc and we "go" to the store, mall, for a walk, etc. Plus, go is used in some phrasal verbs like go on, go out, go along with...
