I want to know about an English expression. I found the expression "scared shitless" in English conversation book. How often do native speakers use this expression in their daily lives and is that a common usage? If so, in what situation can you use this expression?

Very common phrase. You know swear words can have odd phrases with them. Literally the phrase means "I was scared so much I shit myself" but it's now just used a way to exaggerate when you were really scared/shocked. "I was scared shitless when my mom said she saw my report card".

I love this question. It is a very common phrase in the United States, at least. However it is not used daily; it would be used much less frequently than that. It isn't until something REALLY surprising happens that you would use this phrase. Example: Person A: "Did you see that horror movie yet that just came out in the theatre?" Person B: "Hell yeah, it had me scared shitless! I couldn't fall asleep until 4 a.m. the next morning!"
