Hi Ricardo, You can use a gerund or an infinitive after "like". "I like [to play] sports" OR "I like [playing] sports" and the meaning stays intact. Reference URL: https://learningenglish.voanews.com/a/everyday-grammar-gerunds-infinitives/2722827.html (Look under the sub-title "Either a gerund or an infinitive can follow these verbs, and there is no change in meaning".) I believe you are referring to "surfing", an activity of riding a wave to the shore using a surf board. Here, "surfing" is a gerund which is an object of the verb "practice" "I like to practice surfing." (Try replacing "surfing" with other nouns or noun phrases and see if the sentence still makes sense. If it does, you have a gerund. Example: I like to practice yoga. / I like to practice my guitar.) I hope this helps you.

I would say, "I like to Surf." or "I like surfing." If you surf a lot, you would say "I surf." or "I'm a surfer." We don't really say we are practicing sports. We say we are playing sports. "I like playing sports." "I play golf. I play basketball. I play football." We only use practice if we are meeting with the team to practice before a game. "I'm going to practice." ... ....and practice and surf never go together.

I would say "I like practicing sports" and for the other I would say "I like surfing". "Practicing" sounds more like you are already doing it. "To practice" sounds like you like to do it but might not be doing it now. I hope it helped!
