Can you explain the word "large" in this sentence?
Is this a noun or adjective? Why does this "a large"?
Example: A corpus is a large and structured set of texts
large is acting as an adjective - as it usually does.
The noun is "set (of texts)"
structured is also an adjective and also applies to the same noun.
A is there as the indefinite article as you might expect to see in front of any adjective/noun pair
Examples:
A dog
A large dog
A large and friendly dog
