Could you please help me understand the grammar of this sentence, thank you! "You can use this phrase when you have a lot of work to do, and not that much time to do it in." Hi all, I understand the meaning of this sentence. But I am confused about the structure of the latter part of this sentence. Especially, why there is a preposition 'in' at the end of the sentence? Looking forward to your guidance!

The sentence is unnecessarily long. The following would be neater, contrasting the work that is needed to the time that is available. "You can use this phrase when you have a lot of work to do, but not much time (available)." Hope this helps
