Difference between four sets of Hungarian words
Hi guys,
can anybody explain the difference between the following four sets of words to me?
1. őszibarack vs. barack (peach)
2. körül vs. körülbelül (around, when referring to time)
3. idén vs. az idén (this year)
4. medence vs. uszoda (swimming pool)

Hy,
1. 'Barack' is a class of fruits I also can say that it's a family. 'Őszibarack' (ősz=autumn which means here it grows later than other types) is peach and for example apricot is 'sárgabarack' (sárga means yellow).
4. 'Medence' is the deep thing filled with water and the 'uszoda' is the place where you can find one or more 'medence' where you can swim.
