"don't be a hero" joke this is the 1st episode of 1st season of Friends. here is the scene: Ross: I'm divorced! I'm only 26 and I'm divorced! Joey: Shut up! Chandler: You must stop! Chandler: Look, Ross, you gotta understand, 【between us】 we haven't had a relationship that has lasted longer than a 【Mento】. You, however have had the love of a woman for four years. Four years of closeness and sharing at the end of which she ripped your heart out, and that is why we don't do it! 【I don't think that was my point!】 Ross: You know what the scariest part is? What if there's only one woman for everybody, y'know? I mean what if you get one woman- and that's it? Unfortunately in my case, there was only one woman- 【for her】... .....to be continued in the comment section below.............. Joey: What are you talking about? 'One woman'? That's like saying there's only one flavor of ice cream for you. Lemme tell you something, Ross. There's lots of flavors out there. 【There's Rocky Road, and Cookie Dough, and Bing! Cherry Vanilla. You could get 'em with Jimmies, or nuts, or whipped cream!】 This is the best thing that ever happened to you! You got married, 【you were, like, what, eight?】（turns around to chandler and laughs） Welcome back to the world! 【Grab a spoon!】 Ross: 【I honestly don't know if I'm hungry or horny】. Chandler: 【Stay out of my freezer!】 (audience laugh hysterically！！！) Ross: (scornful) Grab a spoon. Do you know how long it's been since I've grabbed a spoon? 【Do the words 'Billy, don't be a hero' mean anything to you?】 (again，audience laugh hysterically！！！) .......below are my questions.........: 1. 【between us】：who is us here? The three guys of us? 2. 【Mento】 :I know the chewing gum brand Mentos, so is Mento a singular form of that? 3. 【I don't think that was my point】: chandler intended to comfort ross, and turned out hurting him, so saying “Four years of closeness and sharing at the end of which she ripped your heart out, and that is why we don't do it” wasn’t what he intended to do, right? 4. 【for her】: “her” here refers to Susan- the woman Ross’s wife Carol left him for. Right? 5. “【There's Rocky Road, and Cookie Dough, and Bing! Cherry Vanilla. You could get 'em with Jimmies, or nuts, or whipped cream!】”: 4a. “Rocky Road” and “ Cookie Dough” are different flavors of ice cream brand Ben & Jerry’s, right? 4b. But what is “Bing!” and “cherry vanilla”? 4c. and also, “Jimmies, or nuts, or whipped cream” are things you put on top of an ice cream, aren’t they? (just like chocolate chips). 4d. So basically, Joey being so specific about different flavors here indicates that there’re many great women out there in the world, and encourage Ross to go for them, right? 6. 【“you were, like, what, eight】”: How could anyone get married at the age of eight? 7. 【“Grab a spoon”】: Is this a common saying in American culture? Can I use it to cheer people up when they are in a difficult situation? 8. “【I honestly don't know if I'm hungry or horny” and “Stay out of my freezer!”】: I know every word, I looked horny up (sexually hungry), but I don’t know them altogether, and why do people laugh soooo hard here? 9. 【Do the words 'Billy, don't be a hero' mean anything to you?】：I heard the song, and read the lyrics as well, yet I don’t see any connection between the song and spoon-grabbing thing here, again why do audience laugh so hard?
