According to the Cambridge Dictionary, a snob is a person who respects and likes only people who are of a high social class, and/or a person who has extremely high standards who is not satisfied by the things that ordinary people like. When you are snobbish, you act like a snob. If you are proud, you have or show respect for yourself. “Snobbish” carries a negative connotation, the word “proud” is used by people in a positive way.
