In 남자를 믿지마 How does 믿지마 break down to mean- do not trust/believe?
In 남자를 믿지마 How does 믿지마 break down to mean- do not trust/believe? Can you explain the grammar?
I get 남자를 men- subject marking particle, then I get lost. at the end which is the word for trust and which part is negating it..I'm going to take a guess and say 믿지 is the verb for trust and 마 is a negates it?
Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure when you add 지마 to a verb like 믿, it makes it "don't (the verb)." You can remember it, because it's like 하지마 (don't/stop it).
so you state it as 믿지마 and when you add it to the rest of the sentence, it's saying don't trust/believe men.
Get it?
Correct me if I'm wrong; I'm still learning and that's my understanding of it.

마 means don't . 믿지 comes from 믿다 (=trust) . 남자 is men .
korean sentences are consisted of : subjet + ....( object. predicate..) + verb
남자를 믿지마 is a command sentence ,
너는 ( you : sbject is ommitted if it is command sentence) 남자를(object ) 믿지(verb) 마 (negate) .
