What is the difference between I never talked to him and I never talk to him? What is the difference between I never listened to classical music and I never listen to classical music? Surely your grammar book covers the present simple tense and the past simple tense.

"I never trustED him" is past tense.
Example: "Even though he had a driving license, I never trusted him to drive the car."
"I never trust him'' is for the present.
"After the tough accident I never trust him to drive the car."
I hope this helps!
