English equivalent of "faire la petite / grande commission" ?
I came across this phrase in a YouTube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BdwvpEDGMM for anyone interested), and have deduced the meaning, but I'd like to understand it better.
How is this expression used?
Is this an expression that you would only use with children? Or with family members? Or is it okay to use with people you feel comfortable with, such as your friends?
What expression in English would have the most similar meaning?
Merci beaucoup !

In the US, kids (mostly) will say they have to “go number one” or “go number two.” I believe that is the equivalent. I don’t know about usage of those expressions in France.
