The idiom means that the book makes you feel eager or excited to "turn the page" -- to read the next part. We can also call the book itself a "page turner": "You should read this book! It's a real page turner."

a page turning story = very intersting story! it can be dramatic,romantic,realistic, any kind of.....!

It could be dramatic, yes - generally it simply means that the story is so interesting it is hard to stop reading (hard to put down) , because you really want to know what will happen next (could also be called 'a gripping story').
