It means "get".
I like garlic, so I asked them to get this much garlic.
Here's some examples,
記得拿傘。remember to bring your umbrella.
那小孩拿著玩具。the kid is holding a toy in his hand.
拿起來。Pick it up.
The word 拿 is with the word element 手，手means hand. So the word is related to the action of hand. There are a lot of usage of 拿，you need to refer to the context of the sentence.
