What does "skid out on two wheels" mean in this context?
This is from the book, After you. A woman and a teenage girl are about to enter a house to meet some guy very important to them, and both are extremely nervous.
I took a deep breath. 'Mr Traynor's a nice man. And I wouldn't have brought you here if I thought it wouldn't go well.'
'If he doesn't like me, can we just leave? Like really quickly? I'll know just from how he looks at me.'
'We'll ***skid out on two wheels if necessary.***'
She smiled reluctantly.
'Okay,' I said, trying not to show here that I was almost as nervous as she was. 'Let's go.'
I know "two wheels" refer to vehicles that have two wheels like motorcycles, but I'm not sure if that's what it means here as well. What does the part marked in stars imply? Is it humor that they'll steal whatever two wheeled vehicles there are and drive away? (By the way they drove up to the place by car, not a motorcycle.)
