Is “stop” a word used in French?
I’m watching a French TV show and I think I’ve heard the word “stop” twice, I’m just wondering if I’m mishearing or if this word is used in French as well as arrête?

You're right, we can use it in the way of "Arrêter!"
It's also a verb "Stopper", for instance, "Stopper un ballon".
You may also encounter some collocations such as "faire du stop" (to Hitchhike).
It's also a road sign "STOP". You may "griller un stop" (go through a stop sign).
Hope it helps!

Yes, this word comes from ENglish, but you can absolutely use it in different contexts.
