Getting vibes is short for "vibrations", and can be used to mean good or bad. "I get bad vibes when I see him." "I get good vibes when I'm with you." It's slang. It means the feelings you get from people.
I think what you might be thinking of is the word "jibe". It's also slang. When you "jibe with someone" it means you get along.

Yes they mean about the same thing.
However, I haven't heard vibe used as a verb much in that manner.
Generally we will say "she has a good vibe (energy). A place has a good vibe (atmosphere)
They have a good vibe (they are good together)
