Please explain the difference between :
A father and a parent
A brother and a brother in law
A nephew and a niece
A child and an only child

A father is always a man, a parent can be a man or a woman.
A brother you have the same parents, a brother in law you are connected by either your spouse or your brothers spouse.
A nephew is male a niece is female.
A child is someone under the age of 18, an only child is someone without a brother or sister.

A father (male parent) and a parent (either mother or father)
A brother (male sibling) and a brother in law (husband of your sister OR husband's brother)
A nephew (male child of your sibling) and a niece (female child of your sibling)
A child (anyone under 18 years) and an only child (refers to someone that doesn't have any siblings in a family)
