On the evening news OR IN the evening news ?
Hi,
I have this question
In this example the preposition refers to the news, and "evening" is just an adjective for the news , right?
So we say "ON the evening news"
Is that correct?

If it is television or radio, then it is "on the news."
If it is a newspaper, magazine, or internet, then it is "in the news."

Hello,
You are correct, the preposition refers to the 'news' and 'evening' is an adjective.
I would say that both "on the evening news" and "in the evening news" can be correct, 'on' being the more formal/correct way in this sentence.
"In the evening news" would refer to a specific piece of news, eg. "In the evening news broadcast, he stated..."
