Mr A
Mr B
Mr C
A and B are standing together. C is standing by himself.
C wants B to leave A and come to C, so C says "B, come here".
But A wants B to stay with A, so A says "B, stay here, please don't go."
10:00 AM A+B........ C
10:02 AM A ............C+B
Did B go to C? ----- YES
Did B come from A and go to C? ------ YES
Strange way to answer...
Thankfully, MLT and Cherry have already provided excellent answers.

1. "Go" and "come" are opposites. Go is similar to "leave" while come is similar to "arrive."
2. I slept= I completed the single act of sleeping./ I was asleep= I was in the state of sleeping, I was sleeping

Hello Hottoh,
They are quite the opposite.
When you are in a place and you move from it to another then you 'go' ,while when you arrive to a certain place when you were in another you 'come'.
Examples:
"I have to go now."
I have to move from where I am to another place.
" He is coming in a while."
He will arrive from another place to where the speaker is now in a while."
'I slept' or ' i was asleep' are both correct, but have different meanings.
'I slept' means I fell asleep , the action of going from the state of being awake to the state of being asleep.
" I slept for 7 hours."
It means I went into the state of being asleep and it lasted for 7 hours."
'I was asleep' describes the state ,when one is sleeping ,during that period of time..
" I was asleep ,when he entered the room suddenly and I woke up ."
When I was in the state of sleeping, he entered the room...
And by the way My Language Tutor 22 is using the same source as me , 'self' , but how come we end up with different texts ? ;)
