Like mischenne said, the "w" sound comes from combining vowels. ㅇ + ㅗ + ㅏ = 와 (wa) ㅇ + ㅜ + ㅓ = 워 (wo) ㅇ + ㅜ + ㅣ = 위 (wi) ㅇ + ㅗ + ㅣ = 외 (oi [but pronounced like wae, as far as I know]) ㅇ + ㅗ + ㅐ = 왜 (wae) ㅇ + ㅜ + ㅔ = 웨 (we) The last combination (not a "w" sound) - ㅇ + ㅡ + ㅣ = 의 (ui)

So... Kwang-yang = 광양 (or kwan-gyang 관걍).

you'll use the vowels dear, well, combination of vowels, like this: 와 - wa, then the same goes with others, but there is a rule, you can't combine ㅜ toㅏ, just ㅘ, ㅜ is combined with ㅓ... well, that's all i think.. >.< i hoped i helped you in a way >.<
