What does "Same's true on both sides of the line" in this context mean?
A and B are cops.
A: The problem is the people who break the law.
B: And what about when cops break the law?
A: Then they should be prosecuted. It doesn't make the rest of us criminals.
B: Same's true on both sides of the line.
Thank you

B is agreeing with A. In his mind, B divides all people into two categories: police and non-police. Since they are separate, he imagines a line drawn between them. The line is imagined, not real. On one side of the line are the police. On the other side is everyone else.

Let me simplify that last response.
B is stating that law-breakers should be prosecuted, regardless if they are cop or criminal.

Hi Baboon. :)
It means that cops who break the law should be held accountable to the law, the same way that cops believe criminals should be held accountable to the law.
