It was humid and hot today. Dad got completely absorbed by that science book and insisted we spend more time on it. We did a simple hands-on experiment: cutting a paper spiral, attaching one end to a thread or shaft, and holding a heat source underneath. As the hot air rises, it pushes the spiral, causing it to spin like a propeller. While I'm long past needing this demonstration to understand such a basic principle, I discovered something else: I'm surprisingly bad at the crafting part! I went through piles of paper trying to draw a decent spiral, and cutting it out neatly was another challenge. Threading the line felt like it took an eternity. Clearly, I need more practice with handcrafts to combat this clumsiness.
