Hy everyone. I have a question.
I work as a freelancer and during my discussions with my clients I often need to convey the idea that I understood what they need from me. I use some different phrases/templates, but recently I found out that some of them can be translated incorrectly back to my mother tongue.
I want to make sure that I use those correctly:
Client: I neeed you to ......
Me:
1) I got your idea on...
2) I got you.
3) I get you.
Please share with me other phrases that I can use in this context. Our conversation usually not strictly formal, it is just friendly conversation, pretty friendly. I need to use phrases here that tell my clients that now I understand them. That's why I prefer using past tense here instead of present (...they told me this, told me that, and NOW I understand them).
Thank you in advance.

Fairly informal and more results oriented rather than confirming the nature of the request, but you could also use the following:
'Will do' is good, it's affirmative, short, and it's action/results oriented.
'Understood, we'll make that happen.' This includes both the understanding element as well as a results-focused promise.
Just saying 'understood' can come off as overly terse/short, but also serious, no-nonsense, or with a military type bearing. Some types of people prefer this kind of communication, however.

I would suggest:
1. Got it. (very informal)
2. I see. (neutral)
3. I understand. (a little bit formal)
