Is "be hyped" still in common use in your region? And I'm just curious about how it sounds. I don't want to sound lame. Thank you in advance. I'm sorry if you're offended by this.

This word has gone through several transformations during the past 30 years.
I use it to describe when a person or a company is trying to generate attention for a product or something like that.
For example:
"They are really trying to hype up this new videogame."
(Meaning, the company is trying to attract a lot of attention for the game)
There are other slang meanings, but this is the only way that I use the word currently.
Good luck!
