मेरी अपना कोई शहर नहीं है। informal 
मैं कई जगहों पर रही हूँ। or 
मैं कई जगहों पर रही चुकाए हूँ।
अब मैं एक खूबसूरत जगह पर रहती हूँ, जहां से मैं दुकान जा सकती हूँ।

मेरा for male person 
मेरी > Female 
शहर >city 
मेरी कोई अपना शहर नही है। 
Here I use शहर instead of गृहनगर, because we don't use probably गृहनगर.
I don't heard about it . If you translate from English to hindi it can be shown. 
But my opinion you can use शहर। 
Most of the Indian people use shops for( दुकान) buying groceries 
You are right. But market is different places, like fish market. 
But now a days you can anything from shopping center.
