The upcoming conference I will participate an international conference on knowledge management next month. The conference will be held in our institute. It will be my second or third time to meet the experts from foreign countries. However, they are much elder than me. Although I often use written English in e-mails, I feel a bit nervous when talking with others in English. The reason might be it's too long since I came back to China. I have no chance to practice my oral English. I need prepare some presentations for the conference. The working language will be English. I hope I will be in good condition and my presentation will be successful. BTW. Last week I received an e-mail which said that my paper is accepted by the committee of another international conference. I don't know whether I will have an opportunity to visit Orlando, FL in July. Hope the head will approve my trip.

Today's Test Today I took part in a test which is IT system architecture designer certification test conducted by the examination institute. I've been preparing for the test for more than six weeks. I got up quite early and went to the examination venue by taxi. I felt so lucky that I hadn't driven my car there because there is no place for parking cars. Otherwise I would worry about whether my car would be ticketed. Many friends asked me about the feeling after the test. I feel not so good. In comparison with those previous test papers, the style is changed this time. I think this is a test on Literature, Mathematics, English and Computer Science knowledge. It's the first time for me to feel so frustrated on a CS related test. Well, that's OK. It's just a test. I should prepare more for next year's test. I will be succeeded.

English Writing This morning I chatted with a friend of mine in Detroit, who has been there for more than six years, about the work and life in the United States. It seems that to find a job in USA is not so easy for a foreigner. My friend told me that the US government provides some tax preferential policies to encourage companies to enroll more US citizens. But on the other hand, those some one who has a job has to pay part of his or her income as tax to the government in order to help those guys who laid off. When I was in Pennsylvania, I usually saw some guys who never went to work. They were just smoking and enjoying the fresh air all day and all night. My friend also complained about the life in college. She told me that we would hardly write a composition as the same style as an English native language speaker. I really agree with her. Maybe readers can understand what I am writting about, but the words and sentences could be more improved. To tell the truth, I used to wrtie a composition in Chinese at first, and then translate it into English sentence by sentence. Before completion, I will copy it into Google and let the auto-translator help to find out the misspelling and other issues. So the composition might still be in Chinglish. This is the reason why I would like to write here. Hope some English native language speakers can help me to correct my composition and improve my written English. By the way, I didn't use Google Translate on this composition.
