Hello, I'm Jo, a native English community tutor from the UK, living in London with my two teenage children. I have previously worked in mental health and I'm interested in global issues, social justice, psychology, self-development, literature and technology.
I love talking to people from all over the world, listening and learning about their lives and cultures. I'm open minded, non judgemental and easy to talk to.

Firstly, please don't be nervous! I'm here to help you practice your English conversation skills and it's my job to try to make you feel comfortable and enjoy the class.
I studied Modern Languages at Liverpool University and I know how important it is to build your confidence when learning a language. So, I try to offer an informal, safe, encouraging, supportive environment where you can build you confidence and fluency in English without worrying about being judged. I'm happy to make corrections, but it's always done in a gentle way.
I'm friendly, warm and a good listener. I ensure that we always have things to talk about, but I'm also very happy to let you lead the conversation. Mijn lessen en manier van lesgeven
I have flexible, informal approach to teaching, tailoring my lessons to your requirements. My teaching style is gentle, supportive and encouraging. The aim of each class is to encourage you to speak as much English as possible, so I try and cover subjects that will interest you. Sometimes we might look at an article together or watch a short video clip to give us material for discussion. Or perhaps you just want a 30 minute chat about your week. Some students chose to practice their IELTs discussion topics with me.
I encourage all students to book an initial 30 minute lesson to establish if my lesson style is suitable for you. I look forward to meeting you soon!Mijn lesmateriaal

Jo is a very caring teacher. There are an infinite topics to talk about; culture, social, life style etc. etc.... You will not feel nervous talking to her. I recommend her to all students.
