My name is Hala and I’m from Egypt. I hold a Master's degree in teaching Arabic as a foreign language (TAFL) and am currently pursuing a PhD in the same field.

I am a passionate Arabic tutor with 14 years of experience teaching both Standard Arabic and Egyptian dialect. I also teach Quran recitation to adults and kids.
I am a certified tutor in Quran recitation for non-Arabic speakers.
In addition to that, I have extensive experience teaching Media Arabic to intermediate & advanced students who are interested in learning the Arabic language of mass media, specifically the language that is used in the written and spoken news.

As for my work experience, I had the chance to teach in several Egyptian universities. I taught Arabic as a foreign language in Cairo University, Ain Shams University, and Al-Azhar University. I also taught Arabic to diplomats in the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the Spanish Embassy in Egypt.
My focus is conversational Arabic, not grammar. However, I will make sure that you know how to use grammar correctly when speaking and writing Arabic.
Each of my lessons is personalized for the individual student’s needs, abilities, and personal goals.

Hala is extremely knowledgable, patient and a joy to work with! She is always prepared and thoughtful to incorporate your interests into the lessons. She took her time to understand my current skill level and goals and from there we discussed and agreed on a plan.

Hala is incredible! She is kind and patient, but also willing to push me when she knows I am capable of more. I really hope to continue taking classes with Hala as I continue to learn the Arabic language. I really recommend Hala if you are interested in studying MSA. SHE IS AMAZING!!

Today was a very special lesson for me.🥳 Now I can recognize the Arabic alphabet much faster and I know the numbers from 1 to 10!🌸 Also my pronunciation has improved a lot and now I'm learning the days of the week. Hala is an incredible teacher. She truly knows how to teach Arabic perfectly. She explains material, grammar, and pronunciation very well. She is very accommodating and truly cares about her students. It always makes my day when I learn Arabic with her. Hala is the best teacher for Arabic you could ask for! :)

Allahumma Barik Hala is a phenomenal teacher, very knowledgeable and explains things in a simple way. I'm learning both Arabic and Quran recitation. I really enjoy my lessons with her. She's very patient and personable which helps immensely when learning.
