I am a qualified teacher with 13 years experience in the classroom. I am a mom of 4. I live in a double decker bus and am traveling South Africa. My big dream is to drive all the way to Europe with our bus house. I love traveling and meeting new people and hearing about life through their different perspectives. My hobbies include watching movies and series, doing arts and crafts of all kinds, making tie-dye shirts, hiking in different scenes of nature and traveling. I have a bachelor of arts degree majoring in psychology and I find people fascinating. I also have a post graduate certificate in teaching, specializing in foundation phase (ages 4 to 13). As a teacher I am patient, friendly and cheerful. I am open about all aspects of life&like sharing personal experiences as well as things about my country&culture. I like to form good relationships with my students&ensuring people feel comfortable around me. My strongest trait is that I can adapt to my students' personal needs&goals. If I do not know something, I am diligent at
researching it&I apply this in my classroom. I prefer teaching grammar and sentence construction in natural flow of conversation - if you make a mistake, I will repeat what you said in the correct way. I may be 2 minutes late to the lesson to accommodate for back to back lessons, but take no breaks in the lesson.Mijn lessen en manier van lesgeven
I adapt my lessons to my students' needs. We can either practice conversational English by having a chat or we can have more constructed lessons where we will follow a theme and practice reading and writing skills about different themes every time. I like to add some activities into each lesson to practice basic language skills. For business language I research the field you work in&have practice activities on anything from interviews to small talk with clients. For children, I adapt lesson to their specific interests ranging all the way from super powers to world war 2 facts... You name it, I will try to make a plan :) I can also help prepare you for tests, exams, debates or revision.Mijn lesmateriaal
