Hi,
I'm Valerio and I was born and live in Bari, in my beloved Puglia.
I'm a Medical student and a music enthusiast.
I play the guitar and teach music in a kindergarten, as well as give guitar lessons to older students.
I'm very curious, I love reading—especially Latin American literature (my favorite writer is Gabriel García Márquez)—listening to music (I adore blues, soul, and rock), and I've always been fascinated by languages.
Besides Italian, I speak English and Spanish, and I'm currently trying to learn German and brush up on the French I studied in middle school.Ik als leerkracht
I’m very adaptable and flexible, and I easily adjust to each student’s needs, having already had the chance to teach people of different age groups.
My short-term goal is to share my love for the Italian language and culture and help students achieve results starting from the very first lesson.
What my passion for foreign languages has taught me is the importance of making mistakes, learning through conversation and real-life situations (which are often very different from what’s written in textbooks).
It’s all part of the journey we carry with us in the learning process.

I'm writing this in English for those who are looking for an Italian teacher, who will stay at your pace and help you kindly, patiently. Valerio is a calming influence and puts me at ease every week, so that speaking and listening in Italian feel real and engaging. His gentle personality creates an atmosphere of comfort in which my self-criticism (as with repetitive errors I think I should not be making anymore, and do) is kept to a minimum. He takes an interest in the details of my days, curious to ask this or that, and shares openly anything that relates to his own experiences. I appreciate and enjoy being with him. I admire his own aspirations, and this generates more conversation. In addition, Valerio keeps a tally things to teach me, and for me to practice offline, offering texts that relate to the errors I make. Frankly, I encourage you to schedule a chat with him.

Valerio is an excellent instructor for the Italian language at any level - he is empathetic, kind, and attentive, which is very encouraging particularly for students like me who, despite having studied Italian for almost three years now, still freezes a bit when asked "cosa ne pensi?" (can I just answer everything with "Boh..."?!) It is apparent in his teaching style that he wants you to understand the grammatical concepts rather than to simply memorize them. As an avid language learner, I honestly cannot put into words how appreciative I am of teachers like him. 12/10 recommend. Ti ringrazio Valerio, ci vediamo presto!

Wow, what a teacher. Valerio is patient, clear, kind, and has a great sense of humor. his understanding of grammar and his ability to transmit that knowledge in a comprehensible fashion is outstanding. Highly recommended.
