Awethu is a brilliant teacher and is very comfortable with adapting to her students’ needs. She has a large pool of cultural, anecdotal and academic knowledge to support her teaching style.

I am enjoying my Xhosa lessons with Awethu. She is always well prepared and is very patient and gives me time to come up with a response. She also explains things very well and has great speaking exercises that we go over. I am looking forward to gaining more confidence while studying with her.

Awethu has such a deep understanding of languages and it shows through her teaching and teaching style. She tries to relate the content to your native language and always makes examples on how to use different concepts. She is passionate about helping you understand the language and fluently speak it with the right pronunciation and context.

Awethu has a lot of structure and materials that make the lessons very effective, both in class as well as follow up homework so that I can grasp the concepts well before the next class. I appreciate this approach so that the lesson, topic or chapter of learning is effective and retained well. She also gives enough practice time in the lessons to be sure that I can produce the sentences with the correct grammar and context as well. Very helpful!

My first lesson with Awethu was impressive! The speaking practice and "Role Play" really helped. Also the grammer explanations were very detailed to help me understand and speak correctly when trying to communicate. Her understanding of the language and culture is impressive and I look forward to our future lessons together!
