Anna

Since beginning lessons with Anna, I have made tremendous progress in learning Ukrainian. Like many English speakers, my knowledge of grammar is weak, but to understand how to use cases in Ukrainian, sometimes you really need to understand the parts of a sentence. Anna is great at teaching this. She is also very responsive to requests. I asked her if we could spend one lesson a week on reading, and she has been super-helpful with that. She even put a huge amount of effort into creating an online reading course built around the classic story "The Little Prince", which I wanted to read. I am so happy I found Anna here on iTalki. She is a gem.

I had the privilege of worked with Anna 3x/week for a little over a month, and I can tell you that that was the best money I ever spent. Anna is exceptional. The quantity of resources in her possession is unheard of, and she uses them to make sure that her students get the best possible experiences during their Russian learning. She has cool multimedia-based lessons and homework assignments, as well. She gives homework if you want homework, and she grades it promptly with clear explanations for mistakes. She also makes it a point to have students talk in the target language as much as possible, but her English is very fluent, so if you a need to switch to English, she can do so easily, though she works to get back to Russian as soon as possible. I would recommend Anna to anyone. I would even recommend her over the majority of in-person instructors. She makes the technology work for her students in a way that in-person instruction never could.

Today we looked at a menu from a Ukrainian restaurant in order to learn more about the instrumental case. It was really great to see this used in context, and to learn more about Ukrainian food, and then we practiced a dialogue about ordering in a restaurant. Дякую Анно!

Another fantastic lesson with Anna, I enjoy being tutored by Anna for several months now. She has the unique skill to create lessons that match your language level perfectly and keep you extremely motivated. She notices what works best for you and adopts the lessons so that you can take a maximum out of it. Contemporary and fun videos, interesting articles and useful textbooks are integrated into her lessons. As a teacher, she is very skilled, likable and also a little bit strict (just as much as you need your language teacher to be in order to succeed ;) After your first few lessons with Anna, you will know exactly why I recommend her strongly to anyone who is serious about language learning.

Today we checked my homework (a dialogue in a restaurant) and Anna introduced the imperfective and perfective verb forms before we started a new topic on rooms and houses. There was lots of new vocabulary today, so we watched a video to introduce the new words and then played some games and talked about where we both live in order to help me learn these. Anna is great at explaining the etymology of words and it really helps with trying to remember them. Дякую Анно! До зустрічі!

I am studying with Anna for half a year now and I am deeply impressed by her professionalism. Anna has an answer to all my unaccountable questions and is always 100 perfect focussed on the lessons with me. I admire her infinite patience and her attentiveness. She is able to motivate and encourage me, even when I feel overwhelmed by the complexity of the Ukrainian grammar and the vocabulary. On top of that she provides me with a lots of new ideas and impulses how I can improve my Ukrainian in addition to our lessons. Although I am most of the time truly exhausted after 45 minutes working with Anna - I love the Ukrainian lessons with her!!!
