Tomás Segura

Tomás is a fantastic teacher. He's patient, dedicated, and full of good advice. He knows grammar inside and out, so he can explain difficult concepts clearly in either Spanish or native-level English. His teaching style is fun and varied, involving everything from videos to conversation to worksheets. I've made lots of progress since I started working with him and I wholeheartedly recommend his lessons. Thanks Tomás!

Tomás has been my teacher from the beginning of my Spanish journey. He has been able to adapt to my needs throughout the process. He's a great conversation partner, but also knows the Spanish language well and can answer any grammar question. He really takes the time to prepare for his lessons and always has fun activities planned. He's listed as a community tutor but he's the most "professional" quality teacher I've come across.

Tomás was warm and friendly and I immediately felt comfortable talking with him, which is a big deal because I’m usually very nervous when I try to speak Spanish. He assessed my level by asking me specific questions that prompted me to practice different tenses and grammatical concepts. It felt organic, challenging and fun. It was a great trial lesson, and I look forward to working with him.

I count myself so lucky to have Tomas as my teacher. He always gives 100% effort, which is more than I can say for myself! However, he is patient when I forget things I should have already know, or when I have an off day. Most italki tutors just do conversation practice. Tomas comes prepared with grammar lessons and relevant homework. His English is near native level, so there’s never any difficulty explaining things in a way I can understand. He also remembers things about my life and asks me practice questions that are specific to my situation. It’s easy to forget he has a whole roster of other students he is also teaching! Thank you Tomás for all your assistance! I look forward to my lessons.

Again, Tomás was patient and easy to talk with… and allowed the conversation to develop naturally. He gave me just the right amount of corrections to bring my awareness to the language, but not stop the flow of the conversation. It was also great to learn a little bit about different parts of Mexico! Very fun!
