She is always friendly, easy to talk to and makes you feel very comfortable no matter where in your Japanese learning journey you are. Anytime I have had doubts about how I am progressing, she helps me see that I am getting better little by little. She is quick to adjust to any needs or questions that may arise and we always share a laugh and some fun conversations. Her knowledge is very apparent, and the way she explains concepts is easy to follow and well structured. Initially I was looking for a teacher in italki to support my Japanese self-study. I had trial lessons with several teachers, but personally Nozomi Sensei suited my learning style the most. I have had 4 sessions so far, so I feel I could provide a more unbiased review. One major point I like about her teaching is how she corrects my speaking and sentence examples respectfully and kindly, with no judgement. Her explanation is easy to understand and whenever I feel confused about some grammar points, she patiently repeats her explanation until I understand. She also likes to go the extra mile at her explanations whenever there are important grammars or vocabularies related to my questions. And lastly, she is a very flexible teacher for a self-taught Japanese learner like me. As most of you will agree, learning a new language is a bumpy road. Particularly for self-study. However, thanks to Nozomi's lessons, I feel back on track to make progress. Despite the many mistakes I make, she is very patient and kind as she explains useful vocabulary and grammar to me. In addition to the lessons from the Genki textbook, there is plenty of room for real conversations that are normally difficult to practice in self-study. I feel strengthened to continue studying Japanese. Thank you, Nozomi sensei!

I had been self-studying Japanese for almost a year when I found I had some questions that I couldn't easily find the answer to myself. Things like "Sure, the answer key says this, but was the way I formulated it wrong, or just different?". In addition, learning by myself, I felt I lacked conversation practice. However, I already established my own system and so I was looking for a teacher to supplement that. Nozomi is the perfect teacher for me because she easily adapts to my level and needs. It is impressive how well she knows to adapt her phrasing to make it understandable for my level, while also challenging me to use the new grammar I've learned. She is patient, maintains a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, naturally introduces topics to talk about and gives clear feedback. After each lesson, she provides a list of new words and phrases that we encountered during the lesson. Although Japanese can be overwhelming, Nozomi makes me feel like I can actually hold a conversation!

As per my wish we had a nice talk about different topics, noting some grammar points to study along the way, to keep the conversation going and focusing on the points that I need to study at a different time. Of course Nozomi sensei corrected and helped me but we didn't dive deep into the grammar. I think its a quite enjoyable way to find weak points. Of which for me there a honestly still a lot
