Valary Atieno

Val has taken me from complete beginner to being able to have full conversations in Swahili. She's patient, uses various methods to teach, explains things clearly and somehow has an endless amount of interesting questions to ask, which is great when practicing conversational Swahili. And she is very easy going and open minded. Val hufanya kujifunza kiswahili kufurahisha sana na kila darasa ni nzuri sana. Nimefurahi kuendelea kujifunza Kiswahili na ninafurahi kwamba nimepata mwalimu mzuri wa kunisaidia!

This was a really fun lesson and perfect for getting started with Swahili. I learned a lot and wasn't overwhelmed. Val was really nice and had great grammar explanations.

As a professional teacher, I'm amazed by how much I learned in such a short time. Valary was organised, helpful and inspiring. A fantastic teacher - book her before the rest of the world finds out!

Just had my first lesson and it was great. I had no Swahili knowledge before starting and Valary made it really easy to get started. She provided me with some materials and taught me some core vocabulary and grammar patterns and by the end of the lesson I was already able to form basic sentences and engage in smalltalk. Im excited to continue in my Swahili learning journey with Valary and I will absolutely be scheduling more lessons with her!
