I am a resident neurosurgeon, with a lifelong massive passion for languages which involves both learning and teaching: I consider myself a nonstop learner of all aspects of my interests, and I am keen on sharing the knowledge I acquire for the purposes of recreation, benefit, and assistance whenever necessary.
My interests and hobbies extend widely beyond the medical realm, and I am open to different orientations and perspectives adopted by people around the globe. I have a 3-year experience of tutoring language enthusiasts, besides a 8-year experience of being a participant, organiser, and moderator of language talk sessions at online and offline events.

Consider me your personal language assistant rather than a traditional teacher; if I were in need of a tutor to help me with my learning journey, I would wish they accept me approaching them the way I prefer, with my own questions, suggestions and preparations, instead of them imposing a curriculum on me that isn't compatible with my prerequisites. I want to provide the same to you, and this extends from grammar to conversations.
I also do have lists of lesson ideas and conversation topics that I can share with you to choose from when you decide to book a lesson with me!

I regularly take Arabic lessons (Levantine dialect) with Rawan. To date, we have had over 50 lessons together. She uses different methods, for example speaking freely about different topics or reading, translating and discussing texts. She takes my specific interests into account. She asks questions, motivates me to speak and helps me to correct mistakes and continuously improve my language. I have already made a lot of progress through my lessons with Rawan and can recommend her lessons to others :)

It is a pleasure to work with Rawan. She is extremely patient during our lessons and ensures that I am comfortable throughout. Rawan is a super star teacher, she gives you exactly what you want and what you are looking for to learn. She doesn't have a strict plan that you must follow, she is very flexible and adjusts her class/homework to what YOU want to learn. I prefer to only focus on learning how to speak Levantine Arabic and Rawan was (for the past 2 years) and continue to be so helpful, knowledgeable and supportive.
