Intern / Language TutorI observed, attended and taught several language classes to experience different methods and styles of teaching. I assisted two English trainers in a three-day English Kids Camp which was held in a medium sized company. I got to know a concept combining fun English lessons and got familiar with modern course books.

I worked with whole classes, small groups and individuals, mainly concentrating on improving pupil's speaking skills and grammatical understanding. I also ran lunchtime clubs to help Year Seven pupils practise for the Routes into Languages foreign Laguage Spelling Bee. I prepared materials for this, and other classroom resources. In addition, I helped a Year Ten pupil prepare for her GCSE German exam.

As a complete beginner I really enjoy how Maryline is prepared with a structure for class, but it feels very natural going through the topics. It’s easy to ask her questions and she incorporates words I bring into the conversation if I’m curious about something. She’s very good about giving examples and comparisons to help my understanding. Pronunciation is something I want to focus on and Maryline points out the tricky bits to look out for and helps me identify words I tend to have trouble with which I use to help focus for self study.
