Hello, my name is Haley and I am an English teacher on italki. I was born and raised in the United States, in the North-Eastern state of Maine. Although many Mainers have a distinctive accent, I speak a pretty standard dialect of English.
I love traveling and feel that language learning is a wonderful tool that helps people connect with others. In college, I majored in Anthropology, and minored in International Affairs, French, and Gender Studies. This course of education helped me learn more about the world and my place in it, and made me even more eager to meet new people from different cultures, and to travel to new places to experience new things!Ik als leerkracht
I have plenty of experience teaching and tutoring English, as I have been tutoring French students in English since my time living in France in 2020. Currently, I am in Spain working for the Comunidad de Madrid Ministry of Education helping high school students improve their English.
I am also certified in TEFL/TESOL. With a 120 hour TEFL course, I learned the best techniques to teach English as a foreign language.
As a result of my experience in learning languages, I understand how difficult it can be to learn a new language. I would love to play a supportive and encouraging role in helping you reach your language goals by providing a positive, judgement free learning environment.Mijn lessen en manier van lesgeven
My lessons are tailored to fit each student’s needs, whether they are just starting to learn English, or they have already achieved near fluency. Our first lesson will be used to get to know each other a bit, and for me to determine your level and learn about your language goals. From there, we will determine what kind of lessons will be the most helpful for you. I recognize that everyone learns differently, and so I want our lessons to be as collaborative as possible so you can learn in a way that works for you. Depending on the students needs, sometimes lessons will have more structure, while sometimes we can just have a conversation to practice fluency and confidence in speaking English.Mijn lesmateriaal

Auxiliar de ConversaciónAs an auxiliar de conversación, I spend my weekdays working with Spanish high school students to help them improve their English. In class, I present English grammar and vocabulary to students through fun games and activities and talk to students in English to help them gain confidence and competence in speaking and understanding English as spoken by a native speaker.

I tried the pronunciation lesson today, it was incredibly exciting. The best teacher, THANK YOU!!! This lesson is simply necessary for those who have recently started learning English, it will help you easily cope with reading without errors and of course speak beautifully.
