I've been taking lessons with Maki-sensei almost every week for a couple of years now. She's easy to talk to, and is good at coming up with topics of conversation when I can't think of anything to talk about. I make her repeat herself fairly often, because I'm very far from fluent, and she never minds repeating herself or rephrasing what she just said in a way that I can understand. I don't plan on stopping my lessons with her anytime soon. I highly recommend taking some lessons with Maki. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I've been taking まきさんfor over 6 months now and always enjoy the learning environment she provides by making me speak lots and lots. she takes an interest in you and asks questions to make sure you practice output and grammar. would recommend for anyone looking for a kind and friendly teacher to help you improve in conversation.

I have had 60 lessons so far with まき先生. Most of our lessons have been focused on conversational practice with some on grammar points. We have talked together about a variety of topics in which I have had the pleasure to learn many new words. She is always willing to correct and help me find the proper way of expressing what I want to say. Sometimes that requires a pause, but it is never awkward because she always waits patiently until I can recall or look up the word or phrase.

I always enjoy the free form conversation, it’s good practice and I get experience speaking about many different topics. Maki always does a great job explaining a new word or grammar point. I definitely feel progress with my Japanese since taking lessons.

まきさん is one of the friendliest and most enjoyable teachers I've had on Italki. The way our conversations flow makes time fly by during our lessons. I always leave feeling more and more ready to speak Japanese in the real world. She's really great at staying within your level, too. She paces herself and describes a topic when you seem confused, but she never makes it feel like you're being babied either. She also often leaves feedback after your lesson, summarizing the things she enjoyed talking about and giving suggestions for what you could talk about next time. I could not recommend her lessons enough!
