Matilda is a great Italian teacher, she is always prepared and has lots of different materials that are perfectly pitched for my level. She is also great at making conversation and getting me talking in a caring, fun and safe way that makes each lesson enjoyable. I feel like I am making progress and Matilda also gives me practice tasks when I ask for them. I highly recommend Matilda if you're looking for well structured lessons that are also enjoyable and relaxed.

I'm very disappointed by this tutor. At first she seemed friendly and I thought we may continue. However, after second class, I felt something was wrong and politely gave her feedback to make it more efficient. At that point she interrupted and talked over me and dismissed my concerns and said "I'm trying to teach her her job" which I never ever intended. When we were still discussing the issue she suddenly switched to lightning pace Italian to "test" me and used my "inability" to order a drink as a proof that I should take it "very slowly". This is, not only embarrassing, but also a very aggressive and unprofessional behavior which made it impossible to continue. It took time to process but she just wants to be a commercial teacher who goes very slowly so that you'll feel "comfortable" and book more lessons with her and she's only "nice" as long as you stay with her terms. There are brilliant tutors on Italki who are genuine language enthusiasts and will treat you much more polite

I have loved taking lessons with Mati! We are able to talk about things I personally would like to know how to say as we naturally go through grammar and exercises. I look forward to taking more lessons and absorbing more about not just the language, but life in Italy.
