Hi! I'm a TEFL professionally certified English teacher, the host of the YouTube channel "English Hacks", and the author of several English/language learning books. I have 10+ years of experience and have given thousands of one-on-one lessons! I am always trying to improve.

I specialize in American pronunciation training and accent reduction, as well as language mentoring (learning how to learn a language in the way that works best for you).

I am really good at connecting things, and this helps me to teach you better. I definitely understand how scary speaking can be and I am very patient, so you can relax and feel comfortable with me. My philosophy is to be a guide and mentor who is very focused on your needs and interests and who can give you the tools and information that you need in order to succeed as an English speaker. Because of this, I don't have a specific, rigid type of lesson that is too focused on grammar like traditional classes. I have enjoyed the classes with Josh a lot!!! He is a very thoughtful teacher who cares and puts a lot of thought into how he teaches. Being calm, patient, and supportive are some of his positive characteristics. I like his caring approach very much! He has an incredible amount of knowledge in what he does, and his ability to articulate what he knows is amazing. I am grateful for Josh's continued support. I had a great first lesson!
He spotted what was off with my mouth posture and throat, and gave me clear direction on what to work on. I’m looking forward to the next lesson to see how things progress and hear more feedback on what’s working and what’s not with my tongue and throat.
