Miguel -SpanishInput

Miguel is a very patient and generous teacher who knows so much about phonetics, how we produce different sounds with different positions of our tongue and lips, and the kinds of confusions that can arise for English speakers (in my case). We practised producing various consonants, and Miguel suggested some intensive and deliberate listening exercises for homework. I cannot recommend Miguel highly enough!

One of the most knowledgeable, professional, patient, and reliable teachers here on Italki. Miguel uses a variety of resources to help his students and is always present and engaged. His audio and video connection are always great and he emphasizes real, spoken Spanish over theory and grammar rules. My Spanish has improved immensely by working with him, and he always has a helpful and straightforward way to explain even the most complicated of topics.

I decided this month to take a Spanish class focusing only on pronunciation. Miguel has a talent to help you sound more polished and fluid with your pronunciation and speaking. He breaks down words into syllables which is very helpful for a visual learner. He explains how sounds are blended when natives speak quickly. No doubt learning this will improve my listening comprehension.

Miguel is a generous, kind and extremely knowledgeable teacher who is committed to helping students to significantly improve their listening and speaking abilities in the Spanish language. He speaks very clearly in a neutral accent. Miguel uses both excellent educational resources that he has developed himself in addition to other materials including poems, songs, radio programs and stories. An excellent teacher whom I highly recommend.

Miguel is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the Spanish language, and in particular about phonetics and how we use our vocal chords, tongues, mouth positions and more to produce particular sounds (vowels, consonants, dipthongs) and then how these flow into one another to make fluid natural-sounding speech. If we improve this aspect of our language acquisition, not only will we feel more confident in expressing ourselves, but native speakers will be able to understand us much more easily. In today's lesson we went through my homework of an intensive listening exercise, and then we practised various sounds and phrases. Miguel is an excellent teacher, extremely patient and dedicated to helping his students to improve both listening and speaking skills. I recommend him unreservedly.

My first lesson with Miguel-SpanishInput was enriching and very engaging. He gently guided our conversation and after introducing ourselves we covered my learning goals, the types of Spanish language materials I have been using to date, and what I would like to focus on in lessons. Miguel suggested some excellent podcast series and books for me and I'm looking forward to pursuing those tips. I recommend Miguel as a patient, attentive and very experienced teacher, and I can't wait for the next opportunity to meet with him!
